ICT Research is based on few basic elements of Analysis, like:
- Need assessment.
- Demand estimation.
- Benchmarking.
- Impact assessment.
The objectives of ICT research are manifolds:
- To assess the need, demand, basic status or impact of the various parameters depending on the status of ICT implementations in the area.
- To ensure the viability of the ICT Centers and enhance the sustainability by sensitization through Surveys and Community contact programs.
- To encourage community participation by involvement of various stakeholders in the Research efforts.
- To widen and strengthen the reach of various corporate and government organization in the ICT network through an extended control on facts and data.
- To prepare for or to assess the need or impact of any Gender or Age group focus development programs.
- To understand the readiness of government, service providers and channels to deliver services through ICT.
Target Groups
Rural Communities at the Villages and Panchayats where:
- Any ICT Center (Drishtee Kiosk) has to be set up.
- Drishtee Kiosk is already running.
- Any Service (s) is being launched / has been launched.
- Market Research has to be done.
- Statistical Data has to be collected with some specified objectives.
Research Methodology:
Drishtee Foundation functions in a very typical work area i.e. research and promotions for ICT. This entails a specialized approach towards utilizing the research tools as they have to be customized for implementation in the rural sector and ICTs. The team of consultants and research professionals at Drishtee Foundation has devised such tools and methodology that could be specifically applied to rural ICT research. These tools like – the Segmentation Model for services and ICT viability has been challenged by and discussed with a wider group of experts and professionals and also have been piloted at few locations.
