With a presence of over seven years in the Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) domain, Drishtee Foundation has undertaken numerous initiatives to ensure holistic development of communities in its areas of operation. The Foundation believes in creating a long-term sustainable relationship with the communities it works with. DF's efforts for community upliftment has gone in many areas namely, Research, Advocacy, Awareness Generation, Capacity Building and Micro-finance.

In its endeavour to build a sustainable community development, the most common challenge being faced by the telecentre networks and the telecentres today is in reaching and empowering the communities. The networks have to get across various social, physical and psychological barriers. It was also felt that well understood needs and appropriate demand estimations could make these telecentres more relevant to the communities. The Research Team at Drishtee Foundation has gone ahead and devised various tools and methods for giving an 'informed planning' for implementation and assessing their impacts.

Drishtee Foundation's initiatives in the field of research and development, micro-finance, nurturing entrepreneurship, financial support and vocational training are just a few to name in the persistent pursuit for sustainable human development, which is of essential importance to rural communities.
